Intro

Multilingualism is becoming an increasingly common reality worldwide.

Therefore, it is essential that all those who regularly interact with bilingual or multilingual individuals are informed about this topic and its nuances. Any person with speech, language, communication, or swallowing disorders has the same likelihood of developing these difficulties, whether they are bilingual or monolingual.

At the end of the curricular unit the graduate should be able to:

A. Understand different theories on Multilingual development
B. Know the distinction between the different types of multilingualism,
C. Discuss the most updated definitions
D. Establish and discuss differential diagnosis between normal multilingual language development, language delay and language disorder
E. Select and analyze formal and informal evaluation instruments
F. Improve knowledge on planning, implementing and analyzing clinical practice
G. Develop a multicultural attitude
H. Know how to guide school setting and stakeholders
